Anthony M. Lopez

Anthony M. Lopez is a founding partner of Marin, Eljaiek & Lopez, P.L. Mr. Lopez' primary practice emphasizes its focus on first-party insurance litigation and he chairs the firm's property insurance department. Mr. Lopez has also overseen and litigated a wide variety of commercial litigation matters, including FACTA class actions, complex real estate disputes, insurance liability matters and construction litigation cases. Mr. Lopez' first-party insurance practice ranges in matters from typical homeowner insurance disputes to multimillion dollar commercial property claims. Mr. Lopez also represents clients before the Department of Financial Services and has handled a multitude of arbitrations and mediations before numerous governmental agencies. Anthony also has a broad range of experience in the appellate arena, representing clients throughout Florida's District Courts of Appeal and the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Anthony is an active member of the Windstorm Network and sits on the board of directors for the Monica Burguera Foundation.

Santiago Eljaiek III

Santiago Eljaiek III is the Managing Partner of the Firm and heads the Transactional Department. Mr. Eljaiek’s practice includes the representation of national and international clients, focusing primarily on the sale, purchase, lease and financing of commercial properties, real estate, asset based and structured lending, including secured and mezzanine financing for term, construction and securitized loans. Mr. Eljaiek also structures and negotiates complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, venture and growth capital investments, debt and equity financings and corporate restructurings. His clientele is diverse, including private equity and venture capital funds and corporations, as well as high net worth families and individuals. Mr. Eljaiek also serves as outside general counsel for a variety of profit and not-for-profit Corporations and Condominium Associations.

Brianna I. Gutierrez

Brianna I. Gutierrez heads the Personal Injury and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) departments at Marin Eljaiek & Lopez. Ms. Gutierrez’s practice includes personal injury actions including but not limited to automobile accidents, slip and fall, negligent security and premises liability. The PIP department is responsible for representing medical providers against insurance companies for first party PIP benefits. During her practice, Ms. Gutierrez has handled numerous personal injury and civil litigation matters through all stages of activity. It is this wealth of experience and knowledge that provides her substantial expertise in litigating matters on behalf of our clients.

Daniela Barreto

Daniela Barreto’s primary practice emphasizes on first-party insurance litigation. Ms. Barreto handles all of the firm’s examinations under oath against property and casualty insurance companies. Daniela’s practice is solely dedicated to the representation and advocacy of insurance policyholders in disputes with insurance companies throughout Florida. Prior to joining Marin, Eljaiek & Lopez, Daniela’s practice ranged in matters from typical car accidents to debt settlement negotiations.

David F. Garcia

David F. Garcia is an Associate at Marin Eljaiek & Lopez, P.L. David joined the firm in 2007 and works in the civil litigation department and focuses his practice on first-party insurance litigation representing policyholders against their insurance companies. David has also overseen the law firm’s condominium collection department which represents various well established condominium associations in collection matters against members of the association.
Prior to joining the firm, David worked as a Certified Residential Appraiser. The experience he gained from five years in the real estate appraising industry gives David insight into many real estate matters ranging from property damage to home financing and foreclosures.
David received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Miami and he acquired his J.D. from St. Thomas University.

Joseph Ruiz

Joseph Ruiz is an Associate at Marin Eljaiek & Lopez and works in the commercial litigation department. Mr. Ruiz focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation including real property, construction, landlord-tenant, homeowner and condominium association litigation. Mr. Ruiz’s practice includes the representation of national and international clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters. Mr. Ruiz also handles real property matters, including Condominium Association representation, collections, mortgage foreclosures and lien foreclosures.

Prior to joining Marin, Eljaiek & Lopez, Mr. Ruiz worked in the banking sector at institutions in south Florida, allowing him to gain contacts and exposing him to the inner workings of banking institutions.

Mr. Ruiz obtained both Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science Degrees from the University of Florida and received his Juris Doctorate from Florida International University.
